usb dvb-t (af9015) card scans nothing.. [solved]

as topic reads.. got a "no name" card that i bought since it was the cheapest one (always a good idea!), that seems to get connected and initialized correctly but when scanning it returns nothing. ive tested it with a ubuntu 9.04 machine, which loads the same firmware and module as the arch one (with the antenna in the same place as with my arch box) but there it works?!

Re: usb dvb-t (af9015) card scans nothing.. [solved]

Hi!
sorry bout the delayed answer, had a reeeally long day at work.
anywho, the logs doesnt really show anything relevant.. messages/dmesg.log - same as dmesg (ofcourse), error/syslog/user.log - nothing at all.
ive tried all the different drivers http://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Afatech_AF9015, the only one who made any difference was the vendor released one - it didnt even recognize the device.

Re: usb dvb-t (af9015) card scans nothing.. [solved]

im not sure what fixed it (i pretty much forgot about it for about a month), but it works now!
using the latest firmware (4.95.0) from http://www.otit.fi/~crope/v4l-dvb/af901 … are_files/ and a fully Syu'ed system it finds and plays all the channels its supposed to.

Just wanted to confirm the solution. I had the same problem and the new firmware solved it.
Thanks for posting.
