pacman -Sy not working

Hi All,
Been away for a while now i've come back i recently reinstalled my laptop and can't get pacman -Sy to work it just sits there.

Pacman -Syy works fine,

I have enabled all uk french and german mirrors in my mirrorlist file but nothing seems to solve this problem.

does anyone have any ideas

... a joke !

Since the new pacman came out a lot of folk are reporting slowdowns.
In my case, issuing a 'pacman -Syy' - as recommended in another thread - seems
to have 'cleared the blockage'. Obviously not in your case !

All I can suggest is you search the forum for other suggestions - there have been a few !

that commit reports suggested that if database is upto date then the connections takes a long time, however i have done pacman -Syy and come back with updates suggesting that my database was not upto date.

I'll have a browse round the forums and see if i can solve it

-Syy forces the update, no matter if the database was already up-to-date or not.
It is very likely the same issue.

just wait for 3.3.1 ..
