After a system update recently, I've discovered that Shaman will not start. In a terminal, I get:
[root@myhost ~]# shaman
shaman: error while loading shared libraries: libalpm.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
[root@myhost ~]#
If I try to start Shaman from the menu, I see a bouncing cursor for a while, then nothing.
Any help would be most appreciated.

pacman 3.3 bumped libalpm:
pacman /usr/lib/libalpm.so.4
pacman /usr/lib/libalpm.so.4.0.0
Afaik shaman 1.2 is compatible with pacman 3.3. http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=77736

pacman -Q shaman or kdemod-shaman depending on which you have installed
also see man pacman for how pacman commands work

Thanks mcmillan. Here's what I just tried:
[root@myhost ~]# pacman -S shaman
resolving dependencies...
warning: cannot resolve "pacman<3.3", a dependency of "shaman"
:: the following package(s) cannot be upgraded due to unresolvable dependencies:
shaman
Do you want to skip the above package(s) for this upgrade? [Y/n] y
looking for inter-conflicts...
local database is up to date
[root@myhost ~]#
Shaman is ver. 1.0.9-7
Any further suggestions?

kdemod has an older pacman package that works with shaman, named kdemod-pacman. Try that package or even better, upgrade your shama to the latest release.
See the thread that was linked to earlier.
