the way i understand it is that the pacman cli utility is nothing more now than a front end to libalpm; just like shaman is a qt4 gui. i just noticed that shaman is logging to pacman.log ... maybe this is just being picky, but shouldnt things be logged to libalpm.log, with the name of whatever front-end application tagged to every log entry ?
personnally i prefer to use the cli utility but im prepared to give shaman another try just for kicks ...
just my two cents. ![]()

the logfile is specified in pacman.conf:
#LogFile = /var/log/pacman.log
shaman is just using the default log file.
EDIT: if you want shaman to have its own logfile, ask the people developping it.
