Fstab help ! [Solved]

I am just not able to mount the ntfs partitions. Ive spent more than an hour trying. I know there's lots of stuff out there, but i've been stupid enough to wrongly interpret each one of them. I dont know what would be the mount point of my NTFS drive. Help !

I have my ntfs partitions on /sda1 and /sda2
Basically in --> /sda1  <????>  ntfs-3g  defaults  0 0  , the ? mark point is frustrating me
What should i enter, the drive is named "Windows Vista".

Thanks.

Re: Fstab help ! [Solved]

thats just where you want it to be mounted... /mnt/sda1 would work (make the /mnt/sda1 folder or it won't mount.)

Re: Fstab help ! [Solved]

Thanks for your reply, I did as u said and it works fine except for some permission issues. If i use the panel applet for mounting/unmounting or a non-root file browser, i get a permission denied error, i tried changing the permissions of the media folder, but it dint help ?????

lol? no phrik here!

@ OP

As root:

# mkdir /Windows && pacman -S ntfs-3g && echo "/dev/sda1 /Windows ntfs-3g rw,users,noatime,auto 0 0" >> /etc/fstab && mount -a

Change /dev/sda1 according to your NTFS drive. [Check using

fdisk -l

]

Thanks, did it. I was using only "user" instead of "users". that seemed to be the problem smile
