Re: Wiki spammed

*fixed*

in case stuff like that happens, just see if the content is still there and if not take the content from an older version of that article and don't forget to add the spam warning smile

Re: Wiki spammed

What is going on there? Is it a user who is writing rubbish into the wiki, or a ... donnow. What does it mean, the wiki is spammed?

Re: Wiki spammed

Week ago it was very bad. Three IPs were spamming everyday. They are now blocked. Read topic:
http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?t=7607&start=15

Whenever we find any spamming, please let me know the IP (check in RecentChanges) and I will ask apeiro to block in the server's apache configure, or contact him directly.

Re: Wiki spammed

used to happen with the incoming directory too.

as much as it is nice to have global access it may be time to regulate the wiki access some more. it is really annoying to deal with the crap day after day.

Thanks Mith for helping to "fight the war". The two monsters (221.219.59.25 and 221.198.237.239) were bad.

For everyone's information, when saving an edited doc use option "This is a minior change" to avoid keeping the old doc version. Also not getting "shot in action" if by accident I inform apeiro the cleaner's IP instead of spammer's. smile

Re: Wiki spammed

Is there any way to prevent this? Like don't allow an entry to save if it includes over 20 links or something? Or maybe many of the same link?

I have a feeling that would require changes to phpwiki....
maybe apache could be setup someway to detect an ip connecting multiple times in a short period and making edits....
