MPlayer DVD Ripping

I want to be able to use MPlayer (Mencoder) to rip a dvd to theora (ogg preferably, mkv is fine too, though.) Can one of you provide a command? Quality is preferable to speed.

Re: MPlayer DVD Ripping

I've wrote about this before DVD to MP4 but there are so many things to think about when doing ripping that nowadays I thinking about just using a program likehandbrake.

Re: MPlayer DVD Ripping

h264enc, xvidenc and divxenc

there is no better. (newest versions require a recent mplayer from svn tho)

Re: MPlayer DVD Ripping

Those options all seem nice, but I really would like theora video. Is it possible to accomplish this?

If you don't want to recompile, you may install h264enc-legacy (until x264 an transcode are themselves updated).
