abiword and scim (Solved)

I have installed abiword from AUR (abiword-devel). Everything works fine expect SCIM. If I try to type chinese characters, they appear in SCIM box, but I cannot input them into the page. And if I want to paste the characters into Abiword, I get the strings of unreadable junk. SCIM in gedit and in Firefox works without any problem. Any suggestion to solve it?

Did you try this one from aur too? aur/abiword-light
Did you try to install it manually ?

Yes. I tried. But abiword-light is too light for my needs. No pdf and odt formats. In the standard version of abiword scim works well, but there is a problem with print command and no odt format.
I have installed it with pacman -U after compiling the package.
Of course, I can always go back to the supported verison of abiword, but abiword-devel is really good (supports all the formats and no annoying problem with crushing after issuing the print command), so it would be great if the problem with scim could be solved.

I gave it a try, but no success. I get this error:

AbiCommand.cpp:554: error: invalid conversion from 'const char*' to 'char*'

No luck. Even after applying the patch "ftbfs_gcc44.diff" to AbiCommand.cpp and after confirming that the patch was applied, I get the same error.
Perhaps, I am doing sth wrong here. The command I used was:

patch < ftbfs_gcc44.diff

Then "file to patch" I gave /src/. . . ./AbiCommand.cpp

I solved it. Unlike gedit and firefox, which automatically changes from Eng to Chinese upon invoking SCIM, abiword requires to change the font from Times to WenQuanYi. So SCIM + change the font, as simple as that. However, there is still a remaining problem already reported by Ubuntu users, which I also confirm, that when you input Chinese characters you have to always hit space for the characters to transfer from SCIM box to the page. A bit annoying, but I can live with it. Thanks for the help. Staying with Abi-devel.
