Hello,
I have noticed this issue some time ago: when sending files to the trash, dolphin takes approximately 7 seconds on a single file. I think it is not a per element delay, ie deleting n files doesn't seem to take n*7 seconds, but it's still painfully slow.
Needless to say, this kind of gets in my nerves, so I've been making do without the trash, but I wanted to know: does anyone else suffer (or has suffered) from this? Any suggestions?
Presently using official arch KDE 4.3; but I *think* this also happened in kdemod 4.2.4, which I had before.
Thanks a lot!

I'm getting this problem too, sometimes 15 secs to delete a jpeg. Wasn't so bad on kdemod, but i switched to vanilla arch kde and it's a pain in the ass. I've resorted to just using the terminal for moving/deleting files.

Dolphin checks and will only allow a trash size a certain percentage of the partition. It's not a very good check and takes a long time. It can be disabled in the preferences.

I experience the same delay when sending files to trash, which is why I usually directly delete files with shift+del, but disabling the maximum size in the preferences fixed it for me. Thanks.
