Hello,
I have recently become interested in installing Linux on a mobile phone. I have an access to the Samsung Omnia, but I cannot modify it permanently. Therefore I am wondering if it is possible to install Linux on it, check how well does it work, and restore previous system (Windows Mobile in this case)?
I have found a Linux project that is targeted directly for Samsung Omnia - http://linuxomnia.sourceforge.net/, so it definitely works, but I just would like to be sure. Also - I'd prefer to have ArchMobile on it, as I know Arch insides better than Debian (btw. Arch logo would look great on such device
).
Some applications are WYSIWYG, and some are WYSIWTF.

Hello Devastator!
I think It's worth to give it a try if you've got facility for it.

Sure, but the owner of the phone would not be happy if he would stuck with half-working linux system and had no possibilities to get it back to original system
.
P.S.
Okay, nevermind. I found out that it is not an actual "installation", but rather running linux from SD card which has to be started from Windows Mobile by HaRET.exe... oh well, silly me ![]()
