Hi all,
Recent updates have caused amarok to take 5 mins each time it wants to play a new song. I believe updates caused it because it has only just become an issue after updating and I post in the 64 bit section as I believe it isn't an issue on 32 bit arch. There is a bug report on KDE's bug tracker, see https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=205682 , but they think it might be an issue with Arch so I decided to post here as well.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? There is a large amount of information provided about the problem in the link that I posted above.
Thanks for your time.

Apologies, I found the answer in another thread on this forum. The problem turned out to be the latest version of gstreamer. I changed the backend for phonon to xine and everything works fine now.

Yeah, changing to Xine worked for me too, found this out today. At first I thought it was an Amarok bug, since I've never gotten Amarok 2.x to work right for me, so I was just like "well, it still doesn't work". Turns out it finally is usable for me But yeah, use Xine.

Same for me. Okay, with xine, I can use the equalizer in Amarok 2.2 beta 1, but I like gstreamer more...
Edit: I'm on i686.
