[SOLVED] cant change track with music players

Hi

After running arch with just a wm for years, I got a lil bored and went looking around. I saw a live version of fedora+kde4 so thut i would have a look. Loved it but a couple of reboots after it had been installed, it wouldnt boot anymore, so came back to arch and put kde4 on. perfect.

The only issue is Juk and amarok struggle changing tracks. VLC works perfect, but Juk & amarok are identical.
they both load up fine, and play the first track fine, then either at the end of the track or when I press skip to next track, it pauses for a second or 2, then kicks the next track in, then with the next track it takes even longer!. If I am lucky I get to 5 track changes, before the length of time seems infinite, and I close the program!

any ideas??

Thanks

Kde is pretty bad. Use a good media player is my suggestion.

Never had this happen to me - have you tried changing what backend phonon uses?

Yeah, it's a gstreamer issue, I got it too. Install phonon-xine and change your backend in systemsettings to use Xine. Amarok is working fine for me now.

awesome, thanks for that. any idea on y vlc shud randomly start bein stupid with the shoutcast radio service? i was relyin on that for music, but suddenly, after I set my locale to uk, it stopped. Even after i did pacman -Rs vlc, then reinstalled it. When I activate the service, nutin shows in the shoutcast playlist, then i try to deactivate it, and vlc locks up indefinately till it is killed.
