Ohio LinuxFest

(I wasn't sure where the mods want this sort of chatter, but I put it here with the rational that it is Arch user specific rather than General Linux. If you mods feel that this should go in the General Linux section, then by all means, please move this thread.)

I am headed to the Ohio Linux Fest this year, and I am curious to see if there are any Archers going. If there are, maybe we could meet up. I would love to meet fellow archers. I do not know anyone else that uses Arch.

I am also fairly sure I will be headed to the Zenoss conference that is set the Friday before the OLF. (I am interested in their network monitoring software, and they are offering to give a basic tutorial on it for free. Can't beat free knowledge.)

If you are headed off to the OLF, which presentations are you looking forward to? What do you feel, as an Archer, is a must see?

This will mark my second Linux Conference, the SouthEast LinuxFest in Greenville, SC being the first. I am fairly sure I can talk my brother into going with me, since he is just getting into Linux as well. (Yay, one of my early converts!)

Re: Ohio LinuxFest

Wow...  I would have figured that there are at least a handful of Archers in and around Columbus.

Oh well.

Re: Ohio LinuxFest

I'm in the area, but honestly after reading about it the event doesn't exactly sound exciting. I didn't plan on going.

Perhaps in the future it might get a bit more eventful.

Re: Ohio LinuxFest

I would go, but being 13 and all, it would be weird to go to a LinuxFest (especially since my parents wouldn't know a thing about anything there tongue).

Hey, I went to my local LinuxFest when I was 13. There were things for me to do there like robots and testing out new Linux stuff, but it might not be the same there. sad

Re: Ohio LinuxFest

After enjoying my first LinuxFest, I figured that the OLF would be much the same, I had not actually looked at the program list...  Hmm   maybe I ought to do that soonish...

If anyone wants to meet up for the event, shoot me an email.

If no one wants to go, I can manage by myself. No big deal.

Re: Ohio LinuxFest

I live in Columbus so it would be easy for me to go, but I agree it doesn't look super-exciting. Not something I would miss watching the Buckeyes game for.

Re: Ohio LinuxFest

I attended SELF at Clemson in SC. I am also planning on attending OLF. My cousin and I, both arch users, will be arriving sometime Thursday night.

Re: Ohio LinuxFest

I am here at OLF, staying in the Hyatt. I was just wondering if any other Arch users were around and wanted to get together and just BS a bit. I'll probably be near the blue haired person.

Well crap, I wish I had checked on this thread before I left. To be honest, I forgot I had started it. C'est la vie!

You probably saw me around somewhere, I was wearing a  'moonshine customs' hat.
