... only, if you measure, how long it takes you to do a "rm -rf /" first ;-)

Re: contributers contribute here - cut&paste results (hwd)

whats so wrong with trying to enhance hwd? according to rasat it was pointed as the AMLUG CD weak point, and fixing hwd actually help us all (k, not u sarah). so instead of posting pff/grr/rm-rf, same time could be used to copy&paste this simple result.

ok well if you don't want to answer the question then thats okay. i don't use or need hwd or there may be people here that have no clue so i was eliciting info for my interest and theirs.

but whatever.  good luck with any of your projects. you can count me out for any of them.

Re: contributers contribute here - cut&paste results (hwd)

1st, sorry, i didnt see your 2nd post after the famous 'pfff'...
2nd, the result should be only time it took to execute both programs and lines-count of their result. it doesnt create nor change anything on the system.
3rd, sorry to hear u dismissing my future project even before i know what they are, but sure, i'll do as u please.

Re: contributers contribute here - cut&paste results (hwd)

smile smile to sarah31 who both opposed hwd and made it what it is today (knowingly or unknowingly).

It has been a challenge to make a tool for Arch based on its philosophy not to handicap the users with an "easy configure tool" at the same time not making it too "raw" for those with less linux / Arch knowledge. The solution was/is to detect all hardwares and modules (what majority users will appreciate) without auto configure and making a howto man page to educate the Arch way of configure. There are still lot to be done but that's the aim of hwd.

So far I have only received positive comments. Sarah31 and few other Arch oldtimers are my "food for thoughts" making hwd to improve..... that's the Arch way  wink

To make a "50-50" tool, hwd became slow in detecting and generating howtos, so the plan is to speed it up. We may not mind it's slow speed running in PC or Laptop, but for any live CD using hwd its annoying.
