mtrr errors - /proc/mtrr settings on 64 bit systems

Hi,

I've got what I think is a very decent system but it underperforms at times quite horrendously yikes In the logs I've come across the following:

Sep 2 15:53:55 deskarch kernel: mtrr: no MTRR for d0000000,10000000 found
Sep 2 15:53:58 deskarch kernel: mtrr: type mismatch for d0000000,10000000 old: write-back new: write-combining
Sep 2 15:53:58 deskarch kernel: mtrr: type mismatch for d0000000,10000000 old: write-back new: write-combining
Sep 2 15:53:58 deskarch kernel: mtrr: type mismatch for d0000000,10000000 old: write-back new: write-combining

Since I am not sure what is at fault here some more info just in case:

cat /proc/mtrr

(same for the second processor)

So I've got a 64 bit system with some memory allocation problem (as far as I can gather). Have any of you got different settings in /proc/mtrr? If so, could you post them so I could try them out?

Naturally I'd also be very interested in any other ideas since mine is nothing but conjecture...
