USB Card Reader

I have a new install 0.7 beta 2 with kernel 2.6.9
On boot my usb-card-reader is not mountable (by fstab).
After I do fdisk /dev/sde and quit the fdisk I can mount the card-reader from the Kde-desktop (klicking an icon)
My fstab line (same works for my usb-stick and I don´t think that could be the problem)
/dev/sde1 /mnt/reader vfat noauto,users 0 0

Maybe someone has an idea for that

Re: USB Card Reader

I found that also mount /dev/sde /mnt/reader would help.

What happens is, the device resp. the symlink @sde1 dont exist at boot. Also the /dev/scsi/host4/bus0/target0/lun2/part1 does not exist after a normal boot. Any action like mount or fdisk seems to create it.

As I don´t know what should create that device I added to /etc/rc.local
mount /dev/sde /mnt/reader

Now I can mount the reader by clicking it´s icon on the kde-desktop. (it is mounted noauto, so it´s normal that I have to mount it after boot)

It´s just a workaround I would say, if someone knows a "clean" solution for the problem, I would be happy.
