newt package

is there any reason the newt library (libnewt.a) is not installed in the newt package? i've added the following command to my PKGBUILD so newtlib can be used in some c programs (im messing with kudzu, but there might be others) :

cp -R $startdir/src/Newt-$pkgver/newtlib/libnewt.a $startdir/pkg/usr/lib/
