Alternative to dropbox?

Hey! After figuring I don't have the mental skills to setup dropbox on a non-gnome environment (I use pekwm with thunar) I find myself looking for another way to backup my documents. I already have them in an external disk *but*.... you never know.

Now I know dropbox is basically a cuter svn but are there free personal use svn servers (reliable ones) out there?

I wonder.. how come google hasn't entered this market yet neutral

Re: Alternative to dropbox?

FYI i wrote the wiki section about setting up dropbox for a non-gnome environment.  if you'd prefer help getting that going just ask... otherwise i dunno what to say... im using dropbox (xmonad and bash wink) and it's great.

Re: Alternative to dropbox?

I used brisbin33's wiki entry to set up dropbox on Openbox and dwm installs, and in both instances it was a simple & straightforward process - I'd recommend you try it before exploring other (probably more complicated) options.

...and with an offer of help from the author of the wiki entry, how can you go wrong?
