VMWare problems with Kernel 2.6.30

I'd appreciate it if someone could help me with this issue:

I recently installed the latest Kernel of arch 2.6.30, and have tried installing VMware and constantly run into a problem with the vmmon and not being support for the kernel.

I have tried installing VMware Workstation 6.5.2 and VMware Workstation 6.5.3
I am sure I could use any other open source products but I have been using VMware in windows so would like to be able to keep those VMs

I got this issue too and searched VMware forums, but the proposed fixes for VMware Player didn't work for me.

Re: VMWare problems with Kernel 2.6.30

According to the "Installing VMWare" page on the Wiki (http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Installing_VMware) you have to do this:

sudo mv /usr/lib/vmware/modules/binary /usr/lib/vmware/modules/binary.old
sudo vmware-modconfig --console --install-all
