multiple instances of /usr/sbin/console-kit-daemon

I have approx 60 instances /usr/sbin/console-kit-daemon (displayed in htop) running on my Arch PCs.  I googled around and consensus is that 60-70 instances is normal.  Can someone explain to me why it needs that many?

Re: multiple instances of /usr/sbin/console-kit-daemon

ConsoleKit creates 64 seperate threads, one for each
theoretical VT and calls VT_WAITACTIVE in them, once for each VT. . .

"H" will hide user threads in htop......... eliminating the clutter.  That's a CAPITAL H
