Hi, Allan... will users running only vi need to do the same, or is that for vim users only?

I think this is only for vim/gvim users but could be wrong... Not the "vi" package is no longer a vim-lite, it is a vi clone called ex/vi.

Thanks for the info, Allan. I used to run vim, but removed it about 10 months ago and continued with vi only, but looking in /usr/bin, I do see that I still have a view and rview file, so I guess they should be deleted in case I should install vim later on.
