I'm wondering how to load my entire Arch system into RAM and have it run from RAM. I thought I read a thread about this a few week ago but can't for the life of me find it here or in the wiki. I have a pretty light install on my laptop and would like to run the whole shooting match from memory. Links and advice are welcomed

Perhaps you can look at Faunos for some insight into running in RAM.
It provides a usb flash boot into tmpfs and operates in ram with 600 packages of archlinux.
Larch has the ability to do similarly and is currently at a new release on another post.
Some performance characteristics would be easily provided by downloading the faunos.img and dd the .img into usb device.
It allows an option to boot entirely into ram but that only permits the USB device to be removed and doesn't improve performance as might be expected. It still runs at ram speed.
Worth a look-see and some insight can be gained from studying its structure.
Good luck.......
