If pacman is still in the downloading phase (i.e.: not installing stuff), you can simply hit ^C (Ctrl + C) to abort. After that you can go in and edit /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist to pick another mirror.
Edit: Ah, misread your post. I thought you were on a working system, not currently running the installer :3

You really should have opened a new thread, instead of changing your original post here and making my reply even more irrelevant.
I'm quoting your new question below, in case you decide against opening a new thread for any further issues you might have.

Have you adjusted /etc/rc.conf appropriately? I think the installer prompts you to edit a few configuration files after the installation is complete.
If you're new, welcome to Arch, but please take the time to familiarize yourself with the way Arch works. Consulting Google and the ArchWiki can help with most issues you might experience during your first steps with Arch.

.... Make sure you are connected.
Make sure your wireless interface is listed in rc.conf. For ethernet, you may have to add eth0. I'm not sure if a daemon is needed for ethernet, probably just the standard Network daemon which is declared in rc.conf by default.
