Hibernation/suspend-to-RAM problems with 2.6.31

Hello,

I upgraded to kernel 2.6.31, all works well except for 2 things: hibernatino and suspend-to-RAM.

With the first:

- When I suspend, I get (before the "saving image" stuff) a screen fully of funny blinking chars. Not a problem, but looks very ugly.
- Sometimes it doesn't shutdown automatically after the image is saved, it just stays here but I can turn off by holding the power button.
- If I leave it hibernating overnight, when I turn the laptop on in the morning, it doesn't always resume correctly. Sometimes I just get a screen with garbled graphics (e.g. the BIOS logo) or the laptop is just frozen.

With the second one, the laptop is completely frozen when I resume.

Anybody has seen similar problems and has a solution?

I'm using Acer Aspire 7720 laptop (Intel Core2 T5550, 2GB RAM, Intel X3100 graphics), using KMS.

Thanks!

Re: Hibernation/suspend-to-RAM problems with 2.6.31

I had this issue when I was using kubuntu. Issue is with X server. To fix try disabling your desktop effects.

This is the ubuntu bug for it.
