Linux friendly Video Camera

Hello,

I will be taking a trip soon and would like to record some video. I would like to get a basic video camera. Anyone know of any Linux friendly video cameras?

What about the Flip camera? Anyone use one?

Re: Linux friendly Video Camera

If you have a decent point-and-shoot camera that also record videos, I would recommend it over the flip since it is the same video quality. And I'm not even sure if the flip is penguin friendly.

If you want a better quality, I would reccomend any low-end DVD camcorder, you can just rip the DVD to get the video.

all they older camcorders should work too as long as you have a firewire port and cable, just use dvgrab, or open up kdenlive or something
