How to get Sun java jdk to OK the license?

I have installed sun jdk to use with Frostwire. When it's installed it says to read the license and say yes or OK to except the agreement. Whe I go to the license there is no option to do either.

How do you get the sun jdk to work?

I would use the Open jdk but it doesn't seem to work with Frostwire.

Pretend like you read the agreement and scroll down to the bottom of it.

I did that. Then why does Frostwire have trouble working?

It doesn't connect most of the time and when you turn it off it doesn't go away until I log off. I've got a couple of songs to download but overall Frostwire does not work.

I can uninstall it and start over. Does it matter what java I have? I haven't had this problem with other distros, so I thought Arch has a different way to set it up.

Works fine for me - I'm using openjdk, not Sun's, but it should work with either.

Re connection issues, are you behind a firewall/proxy/whatever that might be interfering with that?

I'll uninstall java and frostwire and start over.

What is the remove command that gets rid of everything? is it -Rsn?
the pacman rosetta doesn't have any options besides -R.

To remove all dependencies type "pacman -Rsu". To just remove the single package type "pacman -R".
The unneeded dependencies can also be removed by "pacman -R $(pacman -Qdtq)"

Thanks. Someone mentioned that I should download Frostwire from their site instead of in pacman. The one in pacman didn't work too well, so I'll give the one from their site a try.

Arch has been great, Frostwire is the only program that I've had trouble with.

The one in pacman is "the one from their site" - a trivial one-line patch has been applied to deal with an enviroment variable that Frostwire devs did not anticipate, but otherwise it is identical.

Instead of installing applications without using pacman, I'd recommend that you try to identify your existing problem. Run Frostwire from a terminal and look for errors in the output.

I second this suggestion.

Unless system-wide files belonging to a package have been modified or deleted, reinstalling the same package won't make any difference at all (packages with somewhat complex .install files are excluded ;p). Additionally, in this particular case (Frostwire), the installed Java runtime shouldn't matter as well; I have tested with both and it behaves identically. What could possibly be causing trouble is wrong configuration settings, so you can try deleting the .frostwire-4.18 and FrostWire directories in your home directory. Having done that, start Frostwire and you'll be guided through the initial configuration wizard. If it's still not working properly, it could indicate a problem with your network (maybe your ISP is blocking this kind of P2P traffic?).

Like tomk, I'm not having any issues with Frostwire either. It's difficult to locate the root of an issue when you're unable to reproduce it. I'm afraid you're going to have to poke at it some more and gather further information which may help us or the Frostwire developers pinpoint the problem.
