[Solved] No LocalHost

I'm trying to get my Epson 2200 recognized by Arch.  As I read through the cups wiki I found that I couldn't get to http://localhost:631.  Firefox 3.5 says it can't get a connection with the usual blablabla.

The install is about as vanilla as you can get.  Using xfce4.

Everything else, as far as I can tell at this point in time, is working as expected.

Thanks,
Burt

Re: [Solved] No LocalHost

Do you have "127.0.0.1    localhost.localdomain    localhost <host name>" in /etc/hosts?

Re: [Solved] No LocalHost

Yes to all.  When I run "hostname -a" it returns the correct hostname.  I tested this on the Ubuntu 9.04 side and it displays the cups page.  As I recently installed cups on the Arch side I would have expected it to come up.  That being the case, it appears that I've not done something to kick start cups.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Burt

Re: [Solved] No LocalHost

OK.  Fixed.  After reinstalling cups with a few other associated files, I was able to run the cups daemon.  That easily brought up the local host.

Thanks,
Burt
