Invisible mouse in LXDE

Hi all,

I'm trying to install Arch on my old Athlon XP 2000+. I've got a working (minimal) xorg.conf, and I see the test screen with an X as mouse. Then I installed LXDE, put 'exec ck-launch-session startlxde' on .xinitrc and I got a vanilla LXDE dextop but without any visible mouse. If I move the mouse, for example at the left bottom corner, the menu icon gets highlighted, so I can click and navigate through the menu, but the mouse remains invisible.

Does anyone have any ideas on what do I need to see my mouse? I thought about hicolor-icon-theme, but it's installed, as xf86-input-mouse is.

Thanks for the answers!

Ok, I'll reinstall openbox and report back the next time I boot that machine. Thanks.

Re: Invisible mouse in LXDE

Well, now I have another problem. Yesterday, while using powerpill to install openjdk6, the system freezed totally (no SysRq response) so I had to turn it off the hard way. This morning I was going to reinstall openbox but I got a kernel panic:

JBD: Failed to read block at offset 562
JBD recovery failed
EXT4-fs: error loading journal.
kinit: Unable to mount root fs on device dev(8,1)
kinit: init not found!
Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!

Then I booted an Arch CD and tried fsck /dev/sda1, but I got the same recovery failed error as above. I think I will have to reinstall the whole thing again, so I'll try that when I'm done.

Re: Invisible mouse in LXDE

This happened to me as well with ext4, it's why I'll never use it!
