javascript in links?

I am wanting to switch from Mandriva to Arch linux. The only problem I have is I am in Iraq at the moment and the internet requires a web based login. I had it installed but when I fired up links to log in it gave me an error about needing to enable javascript. Does anyone have any suggestions or can I predownload xorg and firefox and manually install them? If so how do I do that. Im a newb to arch but am sick of Mandriva and Gentoo breaks too easy.

Re: javascript in links?

I've been able to get through those type of login pages with elinks: http://www.archlinux.org/packages/extra/i686/elinks/

Re: javascript in links?

I don't know how mandriva compiles elinks; they may disable javascript.  If elinks doesn't depend on spidermonkey that may be the case.  It should work in arch.
