broadcom-wl problems, iwlist scan is empty after driver install

I'm trying to follow this Wiki page for installing my wireless driver
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Broadcom_BCM4312

I have the card "14e4:4329 "Broadcom Corporation BCM43XG"", so i meet the requirements.

I downloaded files from http://www.broadcom.com/support/802.11/linux_sta.php, since the PKGBUILD requires internet access, which i dont have.
I untar'ed the files, made the wl.ko file and put it in /lib/modules/2.6.30-ARCH/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/

# depmod -a
# rmmod b43
# rmmod ssb
# modprobe lib80211_crypt_tkip
# modprobe wl

No problems. Now when i run iwconfig eth2 is recognized as a wireless interface and it returns the usual info
But when i run iwlist eth2 scan, i get
eth2          No scan results

My wireless adapter was working before i reformated my desktop, and my laptop can connect fine while im sitting right next to my desktop. The network I am trying to connect to has a WEP key.

Where did i mess up?

Did you ran 'iwlist eth2 scan' as root? Some people can't scan a wireless connection with their user.

*bump*
I have the same problem after installing arch 64-bit.  Ndiswrapper worked fine with my 32-bit but I just switched and now I have nothing with ndiswrapper.  I followed the same instructions as the OP to no avail.

After a "sudo iwlist scan", eth0 says "No scan results", though it should have at least 3.  Anyone else have problems with the new Broadcom driver?

I don't understand why you still wouldn't use the PKGBUILD.  If you don't have an internet connection on the computer you're trying to install on, download the PKGBUILD, install file, and source to a USB drive, transfer them over and run makepkg.

That includes the PKGBUILD.

I did the process through AUR, then I did it manually.

EDIT:  Alright.  I got it to work with ndiswrapper...
I have a Linksys WMP300N (I bought it cuz it has a huge antenna) and its drivers would not work.  So I took a portion of a dell driver and mixed it with the linksys driver and it worked with ndiswrapper.  Thanks Archers.
