Arch Mobile

Here's the device:
tMmZleQ

the startup...
tMmZleg
tMmZmaA

and the desktop environment smile
tMmZmMA

However....

by that far some of you may have noticed, that in fact I am much better in 3D modelling than in setting up Linux on strange devices wink

tMmZmMQ
tMmZmMg

Next time I hope it will look more realistic big_smile

Re: Arch Mobile

You almost had me there, nice work. smile Though the last two look a bit too … polished, I'd say. Still great, though.

To be honest - I added the last two obvious 3D renders to avoid chaos and misunderstanding big_smile

Re: Arch Mobile

If you're not careful you're going to get roped into actually producing the device tongue  In all seriousness though, nice work.  Very, very nice work (about a billion times better than I could have done tongue).

Sorry about that tongue

I'd personally would like to have a similiar device, however I haven't found anything that I could install Arch on, and still have a valid warranty (OpenMoko does not count. With all respect, it is just ugly). So at least I could have a nice photo/rendering with my dreams' handset big_smile.

Re: Arch Mobile

It's possible to install Debian on rooted HTC phones so really I don't see why Arch couldn't be either.
And no I will not use my Hero as a guinea pig tongue

Sure, but your warranty will be void in such case (I asked HTC ans Samsung directly about that), so for example if your display stop working, they'll tell you "Sorry, your system broke it" hmm. Not nice.

Re: Arch Mobile

Just in case someone really wants to have Arch on his mobile device/phone, there is actually such a project: http://www.archmobile.org/
