Keyboard problems on laptop

Hello.

I just got my new laptop yesterday and installed Arch on it. It works so far, but I have a very annoying problem with my keyboard:

No matter whether I am on the console or in X, I have to type very slowly, because when I go above 1 keystroke per second, keystrokes get omitted from the input. A friend of mine suggested that it may have something to do with hal and hotplugging, however, hal is running, the hal keyboard configuration is loaded when I start X and it didn't help.

Re: Keyboard problems on laptop

Is it Arch/DE specific?

Re: Keyboard problems on laptop

Same problem with English keyboard layout. I'll try another distribution later.

Re: Keyboard problems on laptop

Are you also able to reproduce this with an external keyboard?
