Hi all!
New Arch user here, and I must say, so far the experience has been great! It's everything I have been looking for in a distro!
But, with any new thing, comes a few questions... and here is my first one:
I installed OpenOffice.org recently via pacman (openoffice-base, openoffice-en, and openoffice-spell-en), and that went flawlessly. Then I get to the point where I am suppose to run /opt/openoffice/setup, and thats where a little confusion comes in.
Do I run it as a normal user and tell it to install to my home directory? Do I run it as root and tell it to install it to /opt (which is a symlink to /usr/opt on my machine... for space reasons)? Or do I run it as root and tell it to install to /usr?
Thanks in advance! This seems like a great community!

run it as the user you also want to use it and pick the small install (only a few megs per user). that should do it.
I recognize that while theory and practice are, in theory, the same, they are, in practice, different. -Mark Mitchell
