[Solved]Webcam Creative Live not working

Hi,
I think there's a problem with one of the latest updates, my webcam was working fine since before

myself@Desktop ~]$ dmesg |tail
usb 2-2: USB disconnect, address 3
gspca: disconnect complete
usb 3-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 2
usb 3-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
gspca: probing 041e:4064
ov519: I2C synced in 0 attempt(s)
ov519: starting OV7xx0 configuration
ov519: Sensor is an OV7670
gspca: probe ok
gspca: probing 041e:4064

[myself@Desktop ~]$ spcaview
 Spcaview version: 1.1.8 date: 25:12:2007 (C) mxhaard@magic.fr
Initializing SDL.
SDL initialized.
bpp 3 format 15
Using video device /dev/video0.

[myself@Desktop ~]$ xawtv
This is xawtv-3.95, running on Linux/i686 (2.6.30-ARCH)
xinerama 0: 1280x1024+0+0
WARNING: No DGA direct video mode for this display.
/dev/video0 [v4l2]: no overlay support
v4l-conf had some trouble, trying to continue anyway
v4l2: open /dev/video0: No such file or directory
v4l2: open /dev/video0: No such file or directory
v4l: open /dev/video0: No such file or directory
no video grabber device available

My webcam is a Creative Live IM Vista. Also the sound recorded plays back faster than I recorded.
I've noticed that if I login as a root on KDE4 then xawtv will play fine,

su -c Skype

but skype will shows only green test's display and crash after a while.

Re: [Solved]Webcam Creative Live not working

maybe it's a privilege problem? because you can run it as root. try adding your user to the apropiate groups for video

groups
disk lp wheel locate http games clamav dbus hal network video audio optical floppy storage scanner camera power users

I made an Arch installation on USB which isn't affected by this sort of problem. Unfortunately I'm not able to find the differences to trace the flaw.

EDIT
Partially solved:
Nvidia packages block the normal user access to /dev/video*

LAST EDIT smile

Found the issue, Must set a environ variable XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS=1. Then I appended to /etc/profile.d/xorg.sh. Also mentioned in this thread
