[SOLVED] Is rEFIt necessary to boot Linux on a Mac?

Hi,

do I have to use rEFIt to boot Linux on my MacBook, or can I just use Bootcamp?

Thanks,
MrAllan

EDIT: In the end, I installed rEFIt, then Linux, and finally uninstalled rEFIt and am now succesfully dual-booting between Linux and Mac OS X using Bootcamp.

I don't think bootcamp recognizes linux partitions.  Don't know.  It's been a long time since I used it, since then.  There was talk of people using lilo tough.  The thing is the bootloader has to be able able to run from the firmware (bios for pc and Openfirmware for apple's).

You can use Boot Camp. It will call your Linux partition "Windows" in the boot screen though.
