Athlon II X2 - no temperature readout

I just built an Athlon II X2-based system and noticed it does report any CPU temperatures. My server - a K8 (Athlon X2 5050e) 'spontaneously' reports its temperatures, and the k8temp module gets autoloaded by udev too. I noticed on the Athlon II k8temp does not get loaded during boot. I loaded it manually but still no readouts.

I queried /sys and this is what I found on my server (these files contain the actual temperatures):

/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:18.3/temp1_input
/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:18.3/temp2_input
/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:18.3/temp3_input
/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:18.3/temp4_input

I have the following files on both systems (but they have no actual temperature data):

/sys/bus/pci/drivers/k8temp
/sys/module/k8temp
/sys/module/k8temp/drivers/pci:k8temp

Any clues? I might be trying 2.6.31 one of those days but the box will be installed at the owner's house tomorrow (and no internet connection yet to manage it remotely).

Its not a new deneb core is it? Try k10temp

Re: Athlon II X2 - no temperature readout

No clue, is there some way to find out (without having to check serial number)? It seems Athlon II can be both Propus and Deneb cores...

I'll try the k10temp suggestion as soon as I can get to the box tongue.

This works for me. It's not as pretty as other things that lm_sensors can display, but it's helpful when I've had my CPU running at nearly 100% for hours.
