started to use kdemod, when i check the Storage Volume widget to mount my usbdrive,it works, the problem is the name of the partitions are just meaningless charactors, some posts from the internet suggest i use the command hal-set-property,it doesn't work.after going through lots of information,i discovered it is a thing with HAL,udev or whatever that truely give me the headaches::::
now the thing is this, when i ls /dev/disk/by-label/ ,i got this:
[~]$ls /dev/disk/by-label/
\x18\xfe\x2f\x08q\x10\xb3\xc6\x08 \xb1\xbe\xb5ش\xc5\xc5\xcc eport\x20them\x3f
WTF?
when i use mtools to detect my usbdrives,it says the usbdrive has no label.
so where does \x18\xfe\x2f\x08q\x10\xb3\xc6\x08 \xb1\xbe\xb5ش\xc5\xc5\xcc eport\x20them\x3f come from, how does udev put some BS in /dev/by-label??

now i used mlabel to give a label, everything works fine now:::::

Looks like something gave the partion a bogus label, probably due to encoding problems.
