hey guys,
what's a good snappy feedreader for my eee901?
I'd rather it not be a terminal app, but rather maybe gtk or whatever toolkit dillo uses now. I like and use liferea, but it's pretty sluggish on this thing. does such a reader even exist? searches have not revealed one...

Try these GTK feed readers:
http://liferea.sourceforge.net/
http://alligator.sourceforge.net/

After trying a couple on my 901, I have gone back to Google Reader. It is the ultimate lightweight reader...

Well, I do use gmail, but I don't use google for search. Generally speakiing, I like to avoid google when I can. Obviously it's not a firm stance or I would dump gmail too. Same for mono: I'd rather avoid it if I can, so that pretty much rules out alligator. Thanks for the suggestions, though--maybe I'm being too hard on the terminal offerings...

If you don't mind using the terminal heres one:

PS: Why are you boycotting Google?

I'm an emacs junkie so I use Gnus for feed reading. In fact, I use Gnus with w3m-shimbun, which scrapes the web and pulls the full text of articles into the article window. (For instance, that's how I read these forums - I get a threaded view of all new topics plus the text of the relevant comment in the article window.) For me, no other reader comes close. But if you're not an emacs/elisp junkie, you probably won't be interested.
Snownews is also a decent, lightweight feedreader.
