Cannot connect to 802.11n router

Hello I have a RaLink 2860 in my eee pc 901 using the rt2860sta module. I've used both the driver supplied in the kernel and the driver off of Ralink's official website. And no matter what I try I cannot connect to an 802.11n network. When I do

[root@UpEarly /]# iwlist ra0 scan
ra0 Scan completed :
Cell 01 - Address: 00:1A:70:62:6D:B8
                    Protocol:802.11b/g/n
                    ESSID:"Vitamin-N"
                    Mode:Managed
                    Frequency:2.437 GHz (Channel 6)
                    Quality:100/100 Signal level:-31 dBm Noise level:-92 dBm
                    Encryption key:off
                    Bit Rates:130 Mb/s

So it's detecting that it's a wireless N network, but I still can't connect to it no matter what I try.
Can anyone help me out?

Re: Cannot connect to 802.11n router

okay, never mind. Apparently I just got it to work after spending more than a day on this.
Here's what went down:

1. I compiled ralink's driver from their website and insmod <driver>.ko
2. I connected using iwconfig ra0 ap 00:1A:70:62:6D:B8

And it connected.
Although one weird thing I noticed.. Vitamin-N is set to N only, but yet my card is reporting it as b/g/n.
Is that normal?
