modprobe: no modules.dep file

Using 2.6.31-zen2 kernel I'm getting:

modprobe: FATAL: Could not load /lib/modules/2.6.31-zen2/modules.dep: No such file or directory

The file is present at the path. Have no ideas what's causing it. Googled, but found nothing useful.

I have the same issue; I guess problem is that it's not being included in the initramfs image.

I have hacked a few days around it without success, finally gave up because machine seems working anyway even because of that error..
