trying to fill dependencies for xorg-server, already met these:
libxfontcache 1.0.5-1
xproto 7.0.16-1
xextproto 7.1.1-1
inputproto 2.0-1
xorg-util-macros 1.3.0-1
xf86bigfontproto 1.2.0-1
xtrans 1.2.4-2
libx11 1.3-1
libxext 1.1-1
libxi 1.3-1
xf86vidmodeproto 2.3-1
libxxf86vm 1.1.0-1
libxxf86misc 1.0.2-1
bigreqsproto 1.1.0-1
xorg-server-utils 7.5-1

...but still missing libxfont at least. I have docutils, xmlto, even desperately tried setting variable XMLTO path, no go.

help, please?

edit: sorry I forgot to ask, maybe there's more dependencies to be met to build libxfont? other than libfontenc, freetype2, fontsproto, xtrans, fontcacheproto and xproto?
edit2: well, I could have thought first of enabling testing repo on pacman.conf. that solved it. but "No way to convert HTML to text found" still bugs me.

Re: libxfont 1.4.1 - make error "No way to convert HTML to text found"

While building xorg-server, it asked me to install several packages, one of those was libgl, which in its turn conflicts with nvidia-utils. Ok, fine by me, I was trying to get nouveau to work anyway, so I removed nvidia and nvidia-utils, but I can't build nouveau (and I need to, custom kernel user here), again make error, so I'm back on 1.6.3.901-1.
So, now my questions are, how do I use nvidia driver with xorg-server 1.7, if it requires libgl 7.6 from testing, which conflicts with nvidia-utils?

edit: workaround/solution is install xorg 1.7, remove libgl, and install nvidia-utils, which in 190.36 provides libgl. though for me 1.7 doesn't work with both driver versions. Trying out the new version, 190.40. Otherwise, I'm sticking with xorg 1.6.3.901.
edit2: definitely sticking with 1.6.3.901. Just tried nvidia-beta 190.40 with xorg 1.7, same crash from before. But this new beta of the driver works with 1.6.3.901. Although I have custom git kernel (2.6.32-rc4) and people saying that kernel's the problem, I don't think so. If it was, I wouldn't be able to use 190.36 or 190.40 with xorg 1.6.3.901.

I found the problem -- you need to install one of either lynx, w3m, or links in order for xmlto to be able to convert the XML file to a TXT one.
