Broke my burner/ permissions error

I accidently hit my external dvd burner while it was in the middle of burning.  It stopped and gave me an error.  After trying to restart, I am getting permission errors saying I am not allowed to write to the drive.

I am assuming there is something that was locked down when I hit it which is still locked.  It still works perfectly in windows.

An interesting not is that it automatically mounts as /dev/sr1.  When I try to burn, I get the permission error that I cannot burn, then /dev/sr1 is deleted and remounted as /dev/sr2.

Any ideas as to what could be causing this behavior.

I have cleared the k3b settings, but I am afraid this is something with HAL or udev that is over my head.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.
