Re: ArchServer Project

Mail Lists are now up and running:
general@lists.archserver.org
announce@lists.archserver.org

Anyone who is even remotely interested in the project, please subscribe and participate. We need input from as many people as possible in order to try and make sure the end result is suitable smile

To subscribe, send an e-mail to:
general-subscribe@lists.archserver.org
or
announce-subscribe@lists.archserver.org

There is a web UI, but it's only running over a 1500/256k connection at the moment until the project can get some legs wink

Re: ArchServer Project

Really great:D Always wanted to use Arch for production server, but felt it might be to bleeding edge. If this project can mature, I sincere hope to use it one day:)

Some suggestions; rename to Bugs, and move both the tracker and wiki to their own subdomains. Also something that I really burn for, is that you sort the links alphabetically. So it would be; Home, Bugs, Community, Docs, Repo, Wiki (Only my suggestion.)

Re: ArchServer Project

Nice, I'm currently running my server on regular Arch, but I'll keep an eye on this.

Any particular reason? From an admin point of view, it's easier to maintain some 'aliases' in the virtual host, than half a dozen separate virtualhosts wink

Suggestions are more than welcome -- I'll put this on the todo list (I have strange itches like this sometimes too tongue)

Re: ArchServer Project

I'm really interested in using archserver!

My home server is running "normal" arch, but i would change it if this project goes on. Count on me to test, and maybe to adopt some packages.

Re: ArchServer Project

I'll be an early adopter as well!

Although, rather than creating a new website ... couldn't we get permisson for a sub forum here? I would hate to see the community fragmented ... As this really isn't a new distribution, just a stable tree arch ("starch", if you will).

I'd say that will not happen.  Think about this: Chakra uses the [core]/[extra] packages from here so Chakra is actually more directly Arch than this will be...

Follows the Arch site, and still possible to direct the vhost to a subfolder of the root. So honestly I don't see the problem. My two cents though.

I see your point, but I think the Arch guys have enough on their plate maintaining the current distro wink

I like it! Where were you with this suggestion 2 weeks ago when I was registering domains? tongue

Re: ArchServer Project

I have a Server running Arch, so I can certainly do some testing (although nothing that will put my server down for too long). Also maybe I can help with some other stuff, maintaining PKGBUILDs maybe.

Yep... Finally got access to the new server at LeaseWeb so getting that setup at the moment, then I'll be able to start getting a testing repo up smile

All the current PKGBUILDs are available on github smile

Re: ArchServer Project

Hi all... Well after some screwing around with LeaseWeb (Dell DRAC cards are now the bane of my existence!) the master server is finally up and running, with the first packages in testing and 2 mirrors synced up smile

If anyone is interested in testing some packages out and reporting any bugs, issues and/or suggestions, please do have a go and let us know smile

Good work, fukawi2.  I've noticed that Arch Server has come along quite a bit in the last month.

Re: ArchServer Project

Forums are up and running now, although they still need to be themed correctly to fit with the rest of the site... But they should be functional even if not aesthetically pleasing wink

Re: ArchServer Project

I'm not sure the best place to post this -- perhaps the Arch Dev mail list?

I want to make sure the AL team and community are happy with the copyright display we've left in the boot sequence for ArchServer:
