Hi everyone, i'm trying to get arch to run properly in a Virtual machine using VirtualBox on my Win7 system. Now I run arch on my laptop and mediaserver so i'm not particulary a newbie but this has stumped me. Here is my xorg log and the specific line which is playing up is:
(EE) AIGLX error: vboxvideo does not export required DRI extension
(EE) AIGLX: reverting to software rendering
Also this part doesn't look too good:
Backtrace:
0: /usr/bin/X(xorg_backtrace+0x3b) [0x812c66b]
1: /usr/bin/X(xf86SigHandler+0x9e) [0x80c5e0e]
2: [0xb7811400]
3: /usr/bin/X(Dispatch+0x98) [0x8087368]
4: /usr/bin/X(main+0x395) [0x806ce35]
5: /lib/libc.so.6(__libc_start_main+0xe6) [0xb7433a36]
6: /usr/bin/X [0x806c2e1]
Fatal server error:
Caught signal 11. Server aborting
Here is the full output log:
I have a very basic xorg.conf which consists of setting X to use the vboxvideo driver.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Jack.
Edit: guest additions are installed
Edit2: videocard is set to 128mb memory and 3D enabled.

Before trying to configure Xorg with a .conf file, have you tried using hal? That is, going the automatic configuration route, as explained here: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xor … _xorg.conf

Yes, without an xorg.conf I still get the same error.
Cheers.
