[SOLVED] sysinit logging?

there's a couple errors in my startup, and i have a feeling one is to do with hal, but i'm not sure. and whatever it is, i can't find it under /var/log. so i'm wondering, is there a way to have whatever is run by sysinit tossed into a log?

Re: [SOLVED] sysinit logging?

i've opened all the logs in /var/log. my log folder is setup as tempfs, its on my eeepc, so its cleared every shutdown. but whatever is in there for logs, doesn't have what im looking for. thats why i want to know if there's something i can throw into the init.sysinit startup script or something, since the error is happens during that process. everything seems to be working fine, but that error line flashes by so fast i can't make it out, even if i could pause between those steps or something

Re: [SOLVED] sysinit logging?

omg, that is perfect, exaclty what i was looking for. thank you sir!

and i figured out what the message was, it was to do with cpufreq, i had a couple lines in rc.local to change the threshold, it didn't want to take i guess. i thought it might have been something to do with hal though, since hal fails to stop on shutdown, and i can't manually restart it, fails there too. but it seems to be working, because i can automount in LXDE.

but all is working. thanks
