xorg-server broken.

Hi.

I upgraded to the xorg-server in testing and my keyboard and mouse didn't work so I downgraded back to the one in extra and now xorg-server won't even start; it respawns too fast and then it gets dissabled for 5 minutes.

Re: xorg-server broken.

Try upgrading everything, not just the server. Provide some logs, a forum post with just "I updated, it doesn't work, help!" is silly and won't get you anywhere.

Re: xorg-server broken.

>>EDIT: Fixed by removing the /etc/udev/rules.d/udev.rules file.

But now my touchpad/mouse is acting really weird, randomly cutting out, getting "stuck" in terminals, no right click menus.

This X upgrade was NOT ready for main repos. ;-)

no warnings about udev.rules on main page, either. :-o

=====================================

This isn't just testing, I'm now getting the same thing.

Halfway through the boot process, the screen suddenly goes blank for a half a second, and then reappears with the screen font in some weird framebuffer that I've never used before, about 3/4 the normal size set in grub with the vga option.

Then it completely fails to mount my NFS shares, gets stuck there for about 5 minutes.

Now it is totally stalled, saying:

INIT Id "c1": spawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes
INIT Id "c2": spawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes
INIT Id "c3": spawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes

INIT: no more processes left in this runlevel

And that's it. No access to any Fn screens, no nothing.
