xkeyboard trouble

I have been using arch for a long time now, no real problems ever, but now i am having a problem i can't solve.
first i cannot switch back to any other vt (pressing ctrl+alt+f{1,2,3...}) the kde keyboard tool used to display us int logo now it displays err. I am also seeing xkeybaord errors when starting X.

I had no more free space on /
