Hi,
I have a problem that a long time can not solve.
My laptop has a problem or is the sound or maybe video, or codecs, do not really know what is !!!
But the symptom is the following:
I can not see video on the internet, on youtube, or in vlc or gxine in .. the sound is catching .. he works and doesn't work (bug: When the sound lock.. the same sound plays repeatedly).. so.. continues work and doesn't work again .. and so on.
The strange thing is that both the video and sound work fine in mplayer or kmplayer.
Could someone help me?
I use dwm-5.7.2 on my archlinux. Kernel 2.6.31-ARCH.
The hardware settings on my laptop can be viewed at the following site:

Modify /etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf by adding the line:
options snd-hda-intel enable_msi=1
It will enable message signaled interrupts on your PCI-e bus. I have a dvr4-1227us

you shoud edit /etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf and add " options snd-hda-intel model=hp-dv5 "
then check your alsamixer and make sure you dont have mm (mute ) under speaker (if you have "mm" click m to make it go away ) . good luck
