Sound doesn't work (Realtek ALC889A, snd_hda_intel) [SOLVED]

Hi Folks.
Sry if my question is foolish in any way, but i read the wiki article, used google and the forums search, and i couldn't find anything on my problem.
I'm quite new to arch, and since i installed it, i haven't got sound. I read the wiki article concerning alsa, and unmuted alle the channels with alsamixer. It still doesn't work.
Any help would be welcome :-).

hi,
Install and configure ALSA:
# pacman -S alsa-utils
# alsaconf

Create a .asoundrc file (in your home directory) with:

pcm.hda-intel {
        type hw
        card 0
}

ctl.hda-intel {
        type hw
        card 0
}

Thank you very much for your reply, I did what you said and it works by now. I didn't create an .asoundrc before. I also had to choose the correct Sound Device in Alsamixer when unmuting the channels. The sound is not very loud at the moment, but I think i'll be able to handle this by my own. Thank you!
