time settings problem

i'm having a bit of a problem with the time on my eee 900a. i'm really not sure whats going on. my timezone is set to america/toronto. the time is correct in the bios. i've tried using hardware clock set to localtime and utc, i'm running lxde if thats important in any way. but right now as im writing thsi post. its currently 5:35pm, and the time im readong on my clock is 1:35am, so its waayyy off

need some help. seriously

Have you tried running the hwclock -s command and removing /var/lib/hwclock/adjtime

The timezone components need to be capitalized. Try: TIMEZONE="America/Toronto" in your /etc/rc.conf.

You can also give NTP a try, if you're not using it already.
